Requirements:


  • Deaf person with a BA or equivalent Bachelor's degree (such as BEd)
  • SASL home / firstlanguage user
  • Minimum one year of experience in teaching SASL at a tertiary institution
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good computer literacy
  • Good filming and videoediting skills
  • A postgraduate degree in SASL would be an added advantage.

Duties:


  • To support the delivery of the language component of South African Sign Language for hearing students in a blended learning mode, including teaching, assessment, and administration.
  • To supervise tutors appointed on a sessional basis to teach South African Sign Language.
  • To raise awareness about the Deaf community
