    Description

    Procurement Role

    A leading international trading company, with a successful history of executing contracts with African power utilities for eight years, is strengthening its procurement department in Johannesburg.

    This dynamic role offers a self-driven and ambitious individual the opportunity to grow professionally while directly influencing the growth of the company's trading operations on the African continent.

    We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented professional with a strong background in electrical engineering.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    The key responsibilities of this role include:

    1. Conducting market research on new factories to be added to the company's database of suppliers.
    2. Staying up-to-date with market developments regarding metal and commodity prices, as well as new products in the energy sector.
    3. Traveling to Africa, China, and India to evaluate factories, assess their production capacity, and negotiate contracts.
    4. Liaising with factories, transporters, and shipping agents to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials.

    Requirements

    To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

    1. Reside within close proximity to Fourways, as this is a permanent onsite position.
    2. Possess an electrical engineering qualification, preferably with a bachelor's degree.
    3. Hold a minimum of two years' work experience as an electrical engineer.
    4. Have practical field experience working on a mine or electrical plant.
