Qualified Millwright in Brakpan, Gauteng.

Job Purpose:

We are recruiting for a qualified millwright based in the East Rand, Ekurhuleni, Brakpan, Johannesburg, Gauteng. The millwright will ensure optimum plant availability & efficiency by maintaining and repairing plant and equipment according to engineering specifications and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Create and maintain a safe & healthy working environment in the department.

- Ensure asset availability conforms to agreed KPIs.

- Asset Management to maintain equipment in standard condition.

- Financial controls of maintenance budgets.

- Daily line inspections and repairs.

- Carry out PRAGMA inspections, adhoc, breakdowns and preventative maintenance.

- Shutdown action plan and execution.

Essential Requirements:

- Millwright Trade Test Certificate (Mechanical & Electrical)

- Minimum 5 Years qualified as an Artisan, with experience in maintenance in an Electronic Engineering environment

Willing and Able to work long hours in a demand and challenging manufacturing environment
Must have experience in a Plant/Factory and Manufacturing environment, FMCG
Programming and Fault Finding

Knowledge and Skills:

- Knowledge of Safety Rules and Regulations

- Computer Literate

- SAP spares ordering experience

- MECHANICALLY Sound and ELECTRICALLY Strong

- PLC experience

- Hands-on approach and pride in work performed

Further Essential Responsibilities:

- Diagnoses, fault finds and repairs equipment failures so as to effectively minimise machine downtime

- Ensures test equipment is well maintained.

- Carries out shift work in accordance with pre planned roster.

- Carries out planned maintenance schedules to required standards.

- Checks that all relevant information for the updating of drawings is collated and is accurate & correct.

- Attends training courses as and when required.

- Covers for other multi-skilled artisans for leave, training and sick leave.

- Installation of electrical & mechanical equipment.

Working Conditions:

- Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces.

- Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as per company requirements.
