Job Title: Secretary to Western Cape Provincial Parliament (WCPP) / Chief Procedural Adviser

Duration: 5 years fixed term contract

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the role of Secretary to Western Cape Provincial Parliament (WCPP) / Chief Procedural Adviser. This is an executive level position that reports directly to the Speaker of the Western Cape Provincial Parliament.

The successful candidate will provide overall leadership, management and strategic direction to WCPP, as well as ensuring good governance of the institution in their capacity as Accounting Officer.

About You

• You have a minimum NQF Level 7 degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as Public Administration, Law, Political Studies, Human Resource Management, or Finance.
• You hold a postgraduate qualification, which is advantageous.
• You have at least 10 years of proven experience in an executive managerial and leadership position.
• You have extensive knowledge and understanding of the legislative sector.

Key Responsibilities

• As Chief Procedural Adviser, you will be responsible for providing sound procedural advice to the Speaker and maintaining the procedural infrastructure.
• As Accounting Officer and Secretary, you will ensure that Provincial Parliament delivers on its strategic goals, including providing effective procedural and related support to the House and its committees.

What We Offer

• An all-inclusive remuneration package of R2,270,861.55 per annum.
