OPERATOR DRILL OVERBURDEN, B UPPER:
SERITI POWER, MIDDELBURG MINE SERVICES, MPUMALANGA**
EXTERNAL ONLY

The role:

Responsible for drilling accurate blast holes according to the scheduled plan and pattern of coal and burden.

The duties will include but are not limited to:

Inspects the machine and checks undercarriage, pipe fittings, oil levels of the engine and compressor
Inspects the drill bit and drill rods
Ensure that the dust suppression system is functional and that the drill deck is free of drill chippings
Execute the production and/or logistics activities according to the Schedule and only where competent to do so
Read and follow the Aquila screen / plan and drill according to the prescribed design in order to meet the daily targets
Checks that the Aquila screen or the RCS screen are functioning correctly and keeps track of the depth and drill pattern on the Aquila screen/RCS screen
Calibrate the rod before drilling to ensure that RCS is reading the correct rod lengths
Reports all breakdowns and delays to the control room and log it on production sheet

You will need:

Grade 1
Valid Driver's License
Drilling License / Certificate of Competency
In possession of or able to obtain a valid Certificate of Fitness
Subject to a Dover test and must meet the minimum requirements
Demonstrate oral English language proficiency
