CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
BLACK TAX MOTION PICTURES
REPORTS TO:

PURPOSE:
The CEO for Black Tax will be responsible for facilitating and executing work that supports and optimizes the content lifecycle.
This is a fixed-term contract role and as a member of the centralized Black Tax Demand Content Hub, the CEO acts as a liaison linking cross-functional teams to drive strategy alignment, workflow efficiency and content performance.
MAJOR TASKS AND KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:
Strategy & Business Management
Oversee the critical everyday strategic direction of an organization.Lower-level managers are often more engaged in the day-to-dayoperating activitiesof a company. A CEO synthesizes these results and decides on the long-term plans of a company.
Implements changes and proposed plans. After crafting the long-term vision, a CEO looks to themselves and other executive leadership to begin implementing those plans. Changes are often directly implemented by operational managers, but it is ultimately up to the CEO to ensure the long-term plans are being followed through.
Engage in media obligations and public relations. A CEO is the face of the company, and this includes being involved in media relations. A CEO may speak at conferences, address the public on notable changes to the company, or participate in community events.
Interact with other leadership executives. As companies grow more diverse, it is vital to the success of a company to have a suite of executives that a CEO can rely on. Instead of directly overseeing every aspect of a company, a CEO relies on other leaders to manage their own realm, then engages with them to get a high-level understanding of how things are going.
Monitor company performance. A CEO is ultimately responsible for the financial performance of a company. A CEO may rely on financial or non-financialmatricesto track how things are going. They usually make reporting requests from their direct employees to get a quick sense of how each area in the company is performing and what strategic manoeuvres should be taken.
Setting precedence for the working culture and environment. A CEO is responsible for setting the tone at the top and creating the work environment they believe is best to drive success. Employees working under a CEO often look to the executive to create and maintain the culture of the organization; and ensuring growth and International footprint of Black Tax within the entire African and international markets.
Appointment of critical resources to fill strategic roles.The CEO will determine the capacity requirements for the achievement of the business strategy and appoint crirtical resources in concert with the Board and the strategy of the business.
Operational Responsibilities
Take on the role of Executive Producer/Producer many a times when production commences. Oversee development, production, and post-production. Liaise and maintain good relationships with clients. Approve production schedules, pitches and negotiated deals.
Provide overall strategic, financial, and operational leadership for the company. Work with finance team to develop solid cash flow projection. Oversee the use of funds be it grants, loans, or investment injections.
Work closely with the Executive Chairperson to implement or change disciplinary ways of working and general office upkeep so to plan, develop and implement strategies to improve functionality.
Mentor and interact with staff members at all levels to foster growth and encourage development among the senior executive team and all staff members.
Compliance
Ensure all Legal and Governmental Compliance of the Company. The CEO perform the required statutory and fiduciary duties as per the current corporate governance requirements stipulated within the current companies act. Taking the necessary cognisance of the King 4 Codes of Good Practice for god governance
The CEO will keep abreast of relevant industry legislation and regulations and ensure all of BTMP operations are compliant and within the legislative prescripts.
Financial Oversight
Prepare the budget for the BTMP. Develop Capital Expenditure items and operating expenditure within mandate and ensure proper processes are followed for the acquisition of capital items.
Financial reporting. Regular reviewing of the financial dashboard reporting with the management team, to identify business risks and trends, and to put necessary mitigations in place. Ensure the timely and quality production of financial reports including budget vs actuals, statutory and regulatory reporting as required by group/legislation and ansure the analysis and preparation of financials for board meetings, Exco meetings and for audit purposes.
