    Job Purpose

    The DevOps engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of a company's IT infrastructure. They collaborate with developers to deploy and manage code changes, and with operations staff to guarantee that systems are up and running smoothly.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop a deep understanding of the business need to contribute to the ongoing value proposition. This includes understanding customer requirements and project KPIs.
    • Implement various development, testing, automation tools, and IT infrastructure to enhance efficiency and productivity.
    • Plan the team structure, activities, and involvement in project management activities to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
    • Manage stakeholders and external interfaces to maintain strong relationships and resolve any conflicts or issues that may arise.
    • Set up tools and required infrastructure to streamline processes and improve overall performance.
    • Define and set development, test, release, update, and support processes for DevOps operation to ensure consistency and quality.
    • Review, verify, and validate the software code developed in the project to ensure it meets the required standards and specifications.
    • Troubleshoot techniques and fix code bugs to minimize downtime and optimize system performance.
    • Monitor processes during the entire lifecycle for adherence and update or create new processes for improvement and minimizing wastage.
    • Lead migration of RHEL 4, 5, 6 to RHEL 7 and RHEL 7 to RHEL 8, 9 to stay ahead of the curve and adapt to changing technology landscapes.
    • Encourage and build automated processes wherever possible to increase efficiency and reduce manual errors.
    • Identify and deploy cybersecurity measures by continuously performing vulnerability assessment and risk management to protect against potential threats.
    • Experience in AWS infrastructure as EC2/S3/VPC/ELB/IAM/Lambda/RDS/R53 is highly desirable.
    • Incident management and root cause analysis are essential skills for this role.
    • Coordinate and communicate within the team and with customers to ensure seamless collaboration and meet project goals.
    • Select and deploy appropriate CI/CD tools to streamline processes and improve overall performance.
    • Containerize applications using Docker and ensure successful deployment on Kubernetes to leverage the benefits of containerization.
    • Use Terraform for automation infrastructure provisioning to speed up the deployment process and reduce human error.
    • Configuration and monitoring of Prometheus and Grafana are key components of this role.
    • Strive for continuous improvement and build continuous integration, continuous development, and constant deployment pipeline (CI/CD Pipeline) to drive innovation and excellence.
    • Mentor and guide team members to develop their skills and knowledge and achieve their full potential.
    • Monitor and measure customer experience and KPIs to ensure alignment with business objectives and make data-driven decisions.
    • Manage periodic reporting on progress to management and customers to ensure transparency and accountability.
