    Description

    PURPOSE OF JOB

    To lead a quality and safe patient care experience that meets the set clinical standards through the optimal management of human and organisational resources within a structured unit.

    EDUCATION REQUIRED

    SANC registered RN with Postgraduate qualification in the Neonatal Critical Care (ICU)

    Nursing education qualification; Nursing management qualification (not essential)


    EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

    At least 5 years professional nursing experience in a hospital; 2-3 years leadership experience in a hospital

    Infection Prevention and Control experience
    Clinical Facilitation of staff
    Experience in Neonatal ICU.

    • Auditing and accreditation processes
    • Clinical risk management
    • Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
    • Continuous improvement and quality assurance methodologies
    • Financial management
    • Human resource processes including employee relations
    • Infection prevention and control (IPC) principles and protocols
    • Management of staff productivity
    • Nursing functional knowledge
    • Patient complaint management
    • Relevant nursing legislation
