Your 'day to day'

  • Develop and implement environmental, health, and safety (Sustainability) systems and programmes in accordance with company Principles and Practices, legal requirements, and recognised standard methodologies in order to prevent employee injury, environmental damage, minimise the business impact of foreseeable losses, and meet legal and company requirements. Improve the system on a continuous basis based on audit results, incident investigations, business and process changes. Serve as a professional Sustainability resource and contact. Plan, execute, and monitor functional Sustainability activities to reduce risk.
  • Implement Sustainability activities and plans by advising managers and supervisors to engage employees in following Sustainability policies and procedures, and continuously seek to raise awareness of management, supervisors, and employees in order to achieve Sustainability objectives and targets.
  • Create, implement, and monitor the Sustainability management system and programmes. Continuously seek ways to protect people from injury and occupational illnesses, the environment from harm, and the business from unnecessary losses. Ascertain that procedures are appropriated to the factory's risk profile and accepted; that responsibilities are understood; and that programmes are supported.
  • Ensure clear and consistent communication and replication from all sources of learning (such as accidents, audits, benchmarking, etc.)
  • Supervise the implementation of a proactive loss prevention programme, including risk management (identification, assessment, and control), inspections, audits, and emergency planning, to eliminate or reduce health, safety, and environmental risks to an acceptable level.
  • Stay up to date on the most recent Safety, Occupational Health, and Environmental regulatory requirements, as well as the most recent technology for prevention, control, advising, and directing the organisation to meet EHS requirements.
  • Ensure contractors' adherence to Sustainability legal requirements and PMI minimum requirements.
  • Work with the company's medical doctor to identify and address any potential workplace health issues.
  • Serve as a professional resource for PPE and tool selection
  • Develop and implement Sustainability training modules by analysing training needs and maintaining training records for employees, contractors, and visitors to ensure that all are fully aware of the Sustainability aspects of their job and responsibilities.
  • Constantly improve Sustainability training in response to feedback and emerging needs.
  • Provide timely reporting of Sustainability performance indicators to factory management, cluster/region, and the OC Sustainability department by ensuring that the data is up to date and accurate to ensure the information's reliability.
  • Contribute to Sustainability projects by providing clarity on the incorporation of Sustainability requirements into the design, construction/installation, and commissioning of new and/or renovated buildings, engineering works, machinery, and equipment.
  • Oversee the technical certification of all new equipment brought into the factory in order to eliminate or reduce risks and remain in compliance with legal requirements.
  • Coordinate programmes to reduce waste and emissions, as well as the use of energy and natural resources, by monitoring and analysing current usage and outputs in collaboration with relevant departments, highlighting areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate the accident investigation, analysis, and reporting, as well as keep accurate records of all incident/accident information, to allow the Sustainability Department and Management to identify root causes and take appropriate action to prevent the incident from happening again.
