Purpose of the position:

The Operations Manager oversees daily operations at the automotive manufacturing facility, ensuring efficient production processes, quality standards alignment with corporate goals. This role requires strong leadership skills, deep understanding of automotive manufacturing, and process optimization for continuous improvement.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Minimum 10 years of experience in operations within the automotive industry
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality control systems
Proven experience in leading teams and managing cross-functional projects
Familiarity with South African automotive regulations and compliance standards
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities:

Production Management: Plan, coordinate, and monitor production schedules to meet customer demands while minimizing costs.
Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure products meet industry standards and regulations.
Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in production efficiency.
Team Leadership: Lead, train, and develop operational teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
Budget Management: Prepare and manage budgets for operations, ensuring financial targets are met.
Supply Chain Coordination: Collaborate with suppliers and logistics to ensure timely delivery of materials and components.
Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment.
Reporting: Generate and analyse operational reports, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
Strategic Planning: Contribute to strategic planning initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and business growth.

Salary: The estimated annual salary for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
