- Gathering data and conducting analyses on telecom market expenditures and business segments to support IDG's tracker products globally.
- Providing both quantitative and qualitative research on the telecom sector, with a particular emphasis on core telecom and ICT/adjoining services.
- Taking full responsibility for IDG tracker product(s) and ensuring timely delivery with exceptional quality.
- Willingness to travel for business engagements.
- Assisting in specific custom consulting projects, utilizing IDG data and analysis along with desk research from diverse publicly available sources, by developing data models to address client requirements or to capture telecom market dynamics and trends. Collaborating with IDG research and consulting teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Creating written reports, charts, presentations, or marketing materials based on the analysis and presenting them in webinars, to clients, or at IDG events.
- Building strong relationships with telecom operators and ICT vendors to enhance the visibility and relevance of IDG's research.
- Collaborating closely with IDG sales and consulting teams to drive business development efforts.
- Strong analytical and data modeling abilities. Candidates must demonstrate robust desk research and primary research skills with a keen ability to identify key business trends through qualitative analysis.
- A minimum of 3-4 years of experience in telecom market research or relevant roles within an ICT market research or consulting firm.
- Ability to network effectively within the telecom/ICT industry and establish industry connections.
- Exceptional data interpretation and writing skills, with the capability to provide actionable recommendations.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously within complex team structures.
- Proficiency in articulating complex concepts in clear and concise language.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a positive attitude.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly MS Excel.
- A Master's degree in Business, Economics, or STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics).
- Professional fluency in written and spoken English.
- Experience in data modeling and forecasting methodologies.
- Candidates with knowledge of Python/R and Tableau are preferred.
- Proficiency in data management and visualization tools.
- Previous experience with telecom and Internet of Things projects.
- Strong public speaking and interpersonal communication skills.
