    Learning and Development Practitioner - Technical I (Routine Collections)

    Key Responsibilities:

    Plan for, design, develop, and implement learning and development interventions aligned to individual and business objectives and plans for all-client departments within SANBS.

    Key Performance Areas

    KPA 1: Analyse And Define Client Learning And Development And Business Needs

    1. Consult with line managers to identify learning and development needs aligned to business plans and objectives, as well as individual development plans.
    2. Perform a needs analysis through work area assessments.
    3. Identify and recommend remedies to address business needs and performance challenges.
    4. Review data from various sources to assess needs for training or learning and development interventions.

    KPA 2: Design And Develop Appropriate Training, Learning & Development Programmes

    1. Design and develop training interventions that address identified learning needs and performance challenges.
    2. Ensure programmes developed are aligned to relevant registered unit standards and qualifications.
    3. Liaise with education and training quality assurance bodies.
    4. Design and develop training material, including learner and facilitator guides.
    5. Plan training programmes in consultation with the Head of Learning & Development – Technical 1.
    6. Assist in selecting accredited training providers.
    7. Annually revise and update current training programmes and material.
    8. Develop e-learning programmes that are SCORM compliant for uploading via the SANBS Learner Management System.
    9. Research and develop activities and materials for continued professional development.

    KPA 3: Implement Training, And Learning & Development Programmes

    1. Plan the monthly and annual schedule in consultation with the Supervisor of Learning & Development and Manager of Learning & Development – Technical.
    2. Facilitate training and learning & development interventions as per the training schedule.
    3. Conduct training evaluations using The Kirkpatrick Evaluation Model.
    4. Provide feedback to learners and supervisors on training programmes.
    5. Monitor attendance and delivery of training interventions to ensure objectives have been achieved.

    KPA 4: Ensure Adequate Administration Support Of Record And Material Pre- And Post-Training Event

    1. Prepare for the training event by booking venues, refreshments, travel and accommodation arrangements.
    2. Ensure availability of complete training records.
    3. Compile and file learner training records.

    KPA 5: Input Into Operational & Capital Expenditure (OPEX & CAPEX)

    1. Assist in analysing training and learning & development business needs.
    2. Provide input into identified risks and mitigation interventions applicable to learning & development operations.
    3. Implement training interventions in a cost-effective manner.

    Requirements

    • National Diploma in Nursing Science, Nursing Education & Nursing Management OR Equivalent Qualification.
    • Professional registration as a Registered Nurse with the South African Nursing Council.
    • Proficiency in MS Office at Intermediate level.

    Experience and Knowledge Requirements

    • 1 Year routine whole blood collection in a blood transfusion environment.

    Other (Knowledge and Skills)

    • Facilitation and Presentation skills.
    • Skills Development Act and Relevant legislation relating to Learning and Development.
    • Understanding of programmes, procedures and policies relating to blood donors, blood donation, SANBS business and collections department.
