- Consult with line managers to identify learning and development needs aligned to business plans and objectives, as well as individual development plans.
- Perform a needs analysis through work area assessments.
- Identify and recommend remedies to address business needs and performance challenges.
- Review data from various sources to assess needs for training or learning and development interventions.
- Design and develop training interventions that address identified learning needs and performance challenges.
- Ensure programmes developed are aligned to relevant registered unit standards and qualifications.
- Liaise with education and training quality assurance bodies.
- Design and develop training material, including learner and facilitator guides.
- Plan training programmes in consultation with the Head of Learning & Development – Technical 1.
- Assist in selecting accredited training providers.
- Annually revise and update current training programmes and material.
- Develop e-learning programmes that are SCORM compliant for uploading via the SANBS Learner Management System.
- Research and develop activities and materials for continued professional development.
- Plan the monthly and annual schedule in consultation with the Supervisor of Learning & Development and Manager of Learning & Development – Technical.
- Facilitate training and learning & development interventions as per the training schedule.
- Conduct training evaluations using The Kirkpatrick Evaluation Model.
- Provide feedback to learners and supervisors on training programmes.
- Monitor attendance and delivery of training interventions to ensure objectives have been achieved.
- Prepare for the training event by booking venues, refreshments, travel and accommodation arrangements.
- Ensure availability of complete training records.
- Compile and file learner training records.
- Assist in analysing training and learning & development business needs.
- Provide input into identified risks and mitigation interventions applicable to learning & development operations.
- Implement training interventions in a cost-effective manner.
- National Diploma in Nursing Science, Nursing Education & Nursing Management OR Equivalent Qualification.
- Professional registration as a Registered Nurse with the South African Nursing Council.
- Proficiency in MS Office at Intermediate level.
- 1 Year routine whole blood collection in a blood transfusion environment.
- Facilitation and Presentation skills.
- Skills Development Act and Relevant legislation relating to Learning and Development.
- Understanding of programmes, procedures and policies relating to blood donors, blood donation, SANBS business and collections department.
