Job Purpose

Responsibilities

Strategy Formation and Implementation

  • Align Product Development objectives for the Postpaid Segment with overall business strategy of the Chief Commercial Business Unit
  • Work with internal business stakeholders and the broader Product team as well as Segment Marketing teams in the development and execution of Product
  • Development plans and roadmaps in line with the business plan for said portfolio
  • Consider the medium term (12 years) implications of actions from a broad perspective including long term positioning and strategy
  • Consider the impact of solutions on other areas of the business, as well as the interdependency of units
  • Drive best practice, continuous improvement and innovation at process and procedure level within Product Development
  • Consider local conditions, as well as competitor activity and provide constant updated competitor analysis and insights around Product Development
  • Develop, implement and finetune methods, processes and systems to enhance effectiveness and meet organizational goals

Strategy Formation and Implementation

  • Develop business growth plans and roadmaps for the Product Portfolio
  • Support the Product and Solutions Planning and Forecasting process
  • Establish products as a market differentiator for CEC/Cell C
  • Acquire indepth knowledge of telecoms and industry trends and analyze new technology trends and innovations
  • Capitalize on new innovative initiatives and opportunities

Project Management

  • Develop and drive the execution of agreed projects
  • Drive the implementation, tracking, monitoring and compliance of Projects
  • Contract management in line with Procurement Policies
  • Coordinate project reporting
  • Ensure effective implementation of the integrated project management model
  • Risk management
  • Project managing the development of each product using outsourced and internally outsourced resources

Business Analysis

  • Perform Business and product analysis in line with the methodology and guidelines
  • Identify ways to fine tune policies, processes and systems in line with changing work practices
  • Determine, document, and review requirements for projects within the scope of the value stream or impacting processes and systems
  • Design, analyze and document workflow and make appropriate recommendations that will positively impact operational effectiveness
  • Identify Business Improvement and Optimization opportunities that will result in improvement of process performance;
  • Ensure that benchmarking is conducted with other companies and organizations within and outside the industry
  • Construct business cases for initiations proposed by the business
  • Research and consider best practice, local conditions, trends, as well as competitor activity
  • Identify and implement innovative ways to use minimum resources to achieve maximum outputs

Align Product Development with the CEC/Cell C GTM model

  • Research and analyze market trends, competitor activity, consumer insight and market share and exploit findings for the benefit of the Product portfolio;
  • Develop new products and services utilizing the Product development methodology
  • Driving customer requirements through effective management of marketing principles i.e. segmentation, price, positioning, promotion and place
  • Build and maintain relationships with all internal and external stakeholders and customers, external solution and development partners
  • Prepare Product specifications, Change Requests and manage the implementation of plans and projects
  • Give input into project planning and management to meet defined timelines, functional scope and quality standards
  • Participate in the decision making around new products and services development
  • Present ideas on product performance and fit to market requirements

Align Product Development with the CEC/Cell C GTM

  • Review technical specs to ensure that user and functional requirements are met & advise management committee on tactical decisions affecting the development
  • Ensure integration of products with the relevant technology systems
  • Reporting on the progress of projects against the set timelines and objectives
  • Ensure compliance with policy and procedures during the implementation of a specific project
  • Oversee delivery assurance on thirdparty contracts pertaining to specific products or projects
  • Manage quality assurance during the implementation of products and assess user acceptance
  • Manage aspects of development outsourced to other departments
  • Ensure the successful execution of Product Quality Assurance by compiling
  • Test Case with a customer view, executing UAT, reporting on defects and driving the resolution of defects in a timely manner

Product Management

  • Designing and producing all required documents/collateral for a product, including ongoing reporting on a weekly, monthly and adhoc basis
  • Launching the product into the market, and measuring the success of each new
