    Description

    The Distribution Governance Officer will be tasked with the evaluation and assessment of financial advice provided by advisers, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and industry standards. The position requires an exceptional attention to detail, a good understanding of financial regulations, problem solving skills and the capacity to communicate effectively with advisers, line managers, customers, and value chain key stakeholders.

    Financial Advice Oversight:

  • Perform audits on financial advice rendered to assess the suitability and appropriateness of the advice given based on customer needs, financial objectives.
  • Identify any discrepancies on financial advice provided and potential compliance.
  • Make recommendation to the distribution management and track management actions arising
  • Provide monthly reports on advice, compliance and trends.
  • Compliance Monitoring:

  • Monitor adherence to legislative requirements, regulatory guidelines, and business rules in the provision of financial advice.
  • Provide recommendations for process improvements to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in legislation and regulations affecting the financial services industry
  • Documentation and Reporting:

  • Document findings from reviews in clear and concise reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of review activities and outcomes.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
  • Training and Development:
  • Provide feedback and guidance to IVP & Governance Manager based on review findings.
  • Support ongoing professional development initiatives within the organization.
  • Stakeholder Engagement :

    Collaborate with internal teams, including compliance, legal, and risk management, to address compliance issues and implement corrective actions.

  • Communicate effectively with financial advisers to clarify findings, address concerns, and ensure understanding of compliance requirements.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with distribution management and other stakeholders.
