Description

To lead, manage and optimise the Engineering stores team of operations to ensure Belgotex Vision, ROA, customer satisfaction, volume and profitability goals are achieved.

Responsible for monitoring the productivity of staff and managing the adequacy of inventories in a warehouse or distribution center.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & OUTPUTS

Stores Inventory Supervisor

  • To coordinate and oversee the daily cycle counts of the various inventory assets.
  • To investigate, identify and reconcile the cycle count discrepancies, i.e., shortages as well as overages.
  • To audit process along with paper flow errors and try to spot the inconsistencies that affect the accuracy of the inventories.
  • Act as a leader to guide, and train staff/student employees, interns, and/or volunteers performing related work.
  • To maintain the cycle count records so that it can be reviewed by the management and provide the reports related to cycle count activity.
  • The individuals working in this position implement and maintain policies and procedures related to inventory control.
  • To supervise and oversee the Stock Controllers when processing various purchase requisitions, receiving reports, purchase orders, inventory requisitions, etc.
  • To take periodic physical inventories and ensure that the investment in inventory is maintained at optimum levels.
  • To communicate with vendors about the merchandise and its concerned inquiries.
  • To authorize all adjustments made to the inventory and investigate the inventory issues like quality control complaints, customer complaints regarding products, etc.
  • To track the variances in the inventory, to facilitate better planning as well as interpret variances and correct the problems that have come up.
  • To accurately input data related to product description in the inventory system as well as maintain accurate merchandising information and inventory turn performance.
  • To work in tandem with various departments and maintain flexible attitude supporting all the work that helps in achieving organizational goals.
  • To be accountable for maintaining high levels of customer service, be it internal or external.
  • To oversee the coordination of damaged and defective products and make sure that it is accounted and handled properly by disposing it, reconditioning, or returning it to the supplier.
  • To ensure that all the employees in the team works towards achieving the objectives related to inventory control management and make suggestions for improvement to the management.
  • Inventory storage complies with relevant safety and regulatory aspects in terms of fire security, stacking heights, stacking weights etc.
  • Manage and adhere to SHE programme's and OHS act.
  • Managing risk control, ensure security, safety, and good housekeeping.
  • Participating and coordinating audits as and when required.
  • Direct activities that ensure compliance with the applicable safety, health and environment legislation and audit requirements.
  • To support Inbound Logistics Manager with adhoc duties as and when needed.
  • Report against agreed KPI goals to reflect the department's performance and expenditure.
  • Develop clear short
- and long-term action plans to address variances to achieve strategic business goals by using leading indicators and short interval control, monitoring and re-correct techniques.

  • Ensure that all processes are documented into required SOP and process flow formats and stored centrally as per agreed document management system.
  • Ensure team members follow the most up to date SOPs and transactional documentation to ensure consistency of process.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement processes to improve internal customer service levels, reduce variability and manage supply chain constraints.
  • Direct activities that ensure compliance with applicable safety, health and environment legislation and audit requirements.
  • Ensure housekeeping is kept to
    5S standards.


This role is responsible for overseeing the daily functions of the Inbound Stores department is maintained at a high level of excellence.

To ensure the team is motivated and empowered to achieved daily duties.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Grade 12 / Matric with Maths/Maths Lit and English
  • Supply Chain Diploma / Degree or relevant qualification is advantageous.
  • A Valid Forklift License is essential.
  • 3 to 5 years relevant logistics and warehouse experience in a similar role within a relevant industry.

REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge and skill

  • Previous experience working in logistics and warehousing is essential.
  • Ideally, the individuals wishing to enter this field should have strong analytical and excellent problemsolving skills.
  • They should possess excellent verbal as well as written communication skills.
  • Good organization and business administration skills, attention to detail, willingness to improve, learn and adapt in accordance with the modern practice methods are some of the other required skills.
