    Job Summary

    We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Pharmacist Intern to join our team at Dis-Chem Pharmacies. As a Pharmacist Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the pharmaceutical industry and develop your skills in patient care, medication management, and customer service.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide or perform all services or acts pertaining to the scope of practice of a pharmacist's assistant under the direct personal supervision of a pharmacist.
    • Assist with the sale of Schedule 1 and Schedule 2 medicines or scheduled substances.
    • Help with the compounding, manipulation, or preparation of non-sterile or sterile medicines or scheduled substances.
    • Assist with the manufacturing of non-sterile or sterile medicines or scheduled substances.
    • Re-package medicines and distribute and control stock of Schedule 1 to Schedule 6 medicines or scheduled substances.
    • Read and prepare prescriptions, select and manipulate medicines, label and supply medicines, and provide instructions on the correct use of medicines.
    • Provide information to individuals to promote health.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 / Matric
    • BPharm - 4 year
    • Computer literate
    • MS Office
    • Valid drivers license and own reliable transport
    • Registered with Pharmacy Council South African or valid work permit
    • Clear credit and criminal records

    Competencies

    • English and second language
    • Read, write, and speak
    • Application of knowledge gained as per university B.Pharm curriculum
    • Good communication skills, listening skills
    • Customer service/focus
