    Description

    Key Responsibilities:

    Client and Stakeholder Communication:

    • Liaise with clients, defendants, the Court, third parties, and medical agencies in the UK via telephone and email.
    • Correspond with Defendants and the Courts to ensure smooth case progression.
    • Handle settlement negotiations expertly to conclusion.

    Document Drafting and Management:

    • Draft technical letters of advice/instructions to clients, experts, and third parties
    • Draft standard and technical witness statements
    • Compile full evidential spectrum to support liability and quantum investigations
    • Draft schedules of loss and witness statements.

    Case Management:

    • Keep clear and accurate notes of all calls on our case management system
    • Accurately log time worked on all files and maintain excellent time utilisation
    • Proactively progress files in accordance with the Pre-action Protocol and post-issue of proceedings.

    Litigation and Legal Support:

    • Conduct litigation under the guidance of senior team members
    • Liaise with After the Event (ATE) insurers regarding cover, duties, and exclusions
    • Provide support in handling cases from inception through to completion.

    Team Collaboration and Mentorship:

    • Mentor, supervise, and nurture the growth of junior staff
    • Work closely with a hybrid team from UK and South Africa locations
    • Collaborate with senior team members to ensure effective case management

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Paralegal with hands-on experience in handling claimant or defendant clinical negligence (Individuals with a strong personal injury background will also be considered).
    • UK Qualification and experience
    • Ability to independently manage and prioritize allocated tasks with adequate technical support and supervision from senior team members.
    • Understanding of the importance of supporting the handling of cases from inception through to completion while delivering a personal, compassionate, tailored, and client-focused service
    • Proficient in using cloud-based case management systems, virtual office software, and Microsoft Office.
    • Confident in liaising with medical agencies, healthcare providers, and experts
