Role purpose:


The Senior Specialist:

FTTX Business Systems Integration is responsible for designing and leading the implementation of solutions and capabilities that ensure the strategic expansion of the FTTX department.


The role will be primarily focused on driving development and implementation of cross functional processes and systems within Fibre to the Home (FTTH), Fibre to the Business (FTTB) and Fixed.

The role entails enhancing effectiveness of the business by improving service quality, customer satisfaction, and reducing operational costs.

Additionally, the role entails overseeing business analysis, process management and solution designs that require integration of Vodacom systems and processes to any third-party partners through API's or portal Integration.


Your responsibilities will include:

Responsible for in-depth understanding of the end-to-end FTTX and Fixed systems and processes leveraging on existing systems and processes.

Review and analyse the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems, and then develop strategies for improving and enhancing those areas.

Maintain, re-evaluate, optimise or automate existing business processes.
Identify opportunities for innovative automation and integration within Vodacom systems as well as those of third-party infrastructure providers.
Collaborate with third party Fibre infrastructure providers to overcome issues impacting service delivery and execute operational improvement initiatives.
Define technical workflows to enable business capabilities by documenting and prioritizing process/system enhancements.

Review system technical solution specifications for all initiatives and ensure that the solution is fit for purpose and future sustainable.

Provide guidance to service delivery teams to ensure alignment.
Lead cross-functional projects, coordinate and manage virtual project teams
Facilitate solution compliance to security, privacy, and regulatory needs.
Advocate adoption of new technologies into solutions.
Liaise with IT Operations to discuss technical support queries, identify root causes and introduce process/system enhancements to resolve issues.


Must have technical / professional qualifications:
Matric is essential
3 year related BSc Degree in Engineering or IT studies or Relevant NQF level qualification is essential (Diploma, Certificate)
Minimum 5 years' relevant experience essential in
Business Analysis / Process Modelling
System Design / Architecture
Data Architecture


Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

Driven and self-managed individual with strong leadership skills
Motivated individual who is passionate about technology and Customer Experience
Ability to work with large teams of junior and senior individuals
Ability to provide leadership and guidance to the Operational and Support Resources
Ability to develop monitoring tools to ensure productivity targets are met.
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
Ability to communicate technical support information to internal staff and business users
Able to identify risks and escalate issues where appropriate
Analytical thinking e.g. analysing data trends and anomalies
Logical reasoning e.g. problem solving ability
Thorough understanding of the Agile Development processes
Proven experience with project management of multiple medium and large-sized projects
Proven experience working in an Agile (Scrum) environment, ideally as a Product Owner.
Experience in end-to-end process and data modelling, including the identification of upstream and downstream impacts
High level of commitment and strong work ethic
Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Visio and Word
