    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    The role of the Technical Analyst is to ensure that business requirements are technically understood, documented, developed, tested and delivered on in line with business expectations from both a requirement and priority perspective. This should be achieved by conducting functional analysis of business processes and technical requirements.

    Your responsibilities will include:

  • Seek out relevant information to evaluate and analyse end user requirements through interviews, user research, forums, other data and information;
  • Document and present analysis findings/outcomes;
  • Provide input to the business requirements for the design of solutions
  • Develop and maintain best practice process for data deployment, quality metrics and standards;
  • Identify opportunities to review existing solution to improve data accuracy;
  • Analyse testing results to ensure the solution meets the needs of the business;
  • Provide both analytical as well as creative ideas for solving problems
  • To provide support and consulting to operational teams to resolve complex issues;
  • Research and stay abreast of Data Enablement ecosystem design and technology trends
  • The Ideal candidate for this role will have:

    Skills and Experience

  • Matric / Grade 12 essential.
  • 3 year degree or diploma in IT, Engineering, Computer Science or relevant field
  • 3-5 years of IT experience essential, preferably in a Data/BI environment, with 1-2 years experience in an Agile Delivery Team
  • Experience working with, evaluating and manipulating data;
  • Excellent collaboration and effective interaction with application development teams
  • Defining and developing business processes
  • Knowledge of data warehouse/ODS conceptsphysical database designData TransformationArchitecture
  • Able to understandData modellingETL Architecture and DesignEvaluate and construct SQL scripts

  • Experience and knowledge of the following would be advantageous:Experience and knowledge implementing telecommunications systems and solutionsLarge scale Data Warehousing, utilities, tools and applications BI Tools (QlikSense, QlikView, etc)Teradata/Exadata/AWS/GCP
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent team working, interpersonal and facilitation skills in multi-functional team environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and presentation abilities
  • Strong analytical and problem solving and logical thinking skills
  • Ability to think outside of the norm and challenge the status quo by providing innovative alternatives
  • Commercial and business understanding of the telecommunications industry including subscriber profiles, billing and product reporting, Contact centre systems, knowledge
  • Excellent organisation and facilitation skills
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and complexity
  • Ability to present information and argue points
  • Organized, adaptable, a self-starter, highly motivated by challenge, and a team player
