Description

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Support the Boilershop Manager in ensuring compliance of timekeeping, productive output, discipline and work programs within the Boilershop department
  • Ensure that Critical parts that are to be kept at stores are updated regularly
  • Liaising with suitable suppliers and sourcing quality parts and spares
  • Conduct spot checks on work progress and ensure quality control measures are implemented
  • Assist with formulating standard operating procedures for jobs
  • Assist with creating job cards as needed and managing the distribution thereof to the various teams
  • Driving CWorks maintenance system and ensuring workshops utilization targets are met consistently
  • Coordinate daytoday activities, projects and the flow of tasks and responsibilities
  • Coordinate and liaise with key internal staff members in order to ensure their satisfaction on quality and progress of jobs
  • Coordinate and monitor the quality and efficiency of work processes and interdepartmental work flow, report any issues or possible improvements to Boilershop Manager
  • Planning of department needs with the Boilershop Manager as well as the effective execution of the said planning
  • Abide by the regulations as set out in the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Any other tasks including administrative functions such as completing timesheets, filing, reports as agreed with the Boilershop Manager, suited to this level of responsibility

Qualifying Criteria

  • Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent
  • Qualified Boilermaker/Welding Red Seal Trade Test certificate
  • Valid driver's license
  • Experience in a similar role
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant working experience in a coordinating or similar role
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Qualified Boilermaker/Welder
  • Must be fully Computer literate (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook)
  • Must have Strong proven administrative skills
  • Experience working with an Electronic Maintenance system
  • Knowledgeable on the Occupational Health & Safety Act
  • Sound communication skills (understand, read and write English)
  • Must be prepared to work overtime when required
