    Lead Engineer: Bridges and Transportation Structures

    SUMMARY

    We are seeking a Lead Engineer to join our team in the area of Bridges and Transportation Structures. The successful candidate will provide support and management for this specific area, overseeing engineers, technologists, and technicians throughout the project lifecycle.

    About the Role

    The Lead Engineer will be responsible for all technical aspects of Bridges and Transportation Structures projects, including investigation and design, field assessments, tender documentation, and cost estimates.

    • Provide technical leadership and support for marketing, business development, and management of Bridges and Transportation Structures projects.
    • Manage a team of engineers, technologists, and technicians throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Oversee all technical aspects of Bridges and Transportation Structures projects, including investigation and design, field assessments, tender documentation, and cost estimates.
    • Prepare technical reports and design reports.
    • Stay up-to-date with technology development and research in the field of Bridges and Transportation Structures.
    • Conduct construction monitoring and implementation of site construction work as required.
    • Mentor junior engineers and technicians.

    Requirements

    To be successful in this role, you will need:

    • BSc/BTech in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
    • Master's degree in Civil Engineering is advantageous.
    • Professional registration as a Pr Eng or Pr Tech.
    • COTO Certified Bridge Inspector or willingness to obtain certification.

    You will also require:

    • At least 10 years' experience in civil engineering, preferably in bridge design.
    • Postgraduate experience in designing large bridges and transportation structures.
    • Familiarity with Bridge Design Standards of SANRAL and Local Government Departments.
    • Sound knowledge of Structural Steel and Reinforced Concrete Bridge Design.
    • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, AutoCAD, CADS RC, Revit, Prokon, Midas, and other relevant design software.
