Description

The Technology Sourcing Specialist role will be responsible for strategic and tactical sourcing and procurement efforts relating to global spend categories of Information Technology (i.e., hardware, software, data center, cloud, networking, consulting services etc.) to secure optimal opportunities that deliver value, drive savings, increase efficiencies, secure supply, mitigate sourcing risks with defined and measurable SLAs, all underpinned by internal governance and compliance policies.

This role will report to the Technology Sourcing Manager.


The Technology Sourcing Specialist will:


  • Perform spend analysis across the GGL group entities in order to identify strategic opportunities for risk mitigation, standardization, rationalization, cost savings and growing partnerships with key suppliers.
  • Function as a strategic and tactical partner who listens to understand the requirements of cross functional teams.
  • Drive category strategies for identified target areas of spend and incorporate vendor segmentation using the Krajlic Model.
  • Update and track a pipeline of sourcing events planned for the financial year.
  • Implement sourcing category strategies which will include the development of request for proposals (RFI/RFQ/RFP), bid evaluations, supplier evaluation, development of negotiation strategy, negotiations, supplier selection, contracting, market analysis and total cost of ownership analysis.
  • Negotiate pricing as well as contractual terms and conditions.
  • Identify strategies to reduce expense through the renegotiation on existing contracts, rationalization of products and services, early retirement of equipment, leveraging purchasing opportunities and contractor services.
  • Track and report on savings achieved through sourcing events and engage with Internal Controls (audit) for any verification of claimed figures.
  • Effectively deal with conflict inherent in procurement operations between suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Engage closely with Legal and Data Protection to ensure that terms and conditions are aligned with current legislation and policy.
Proactively monitor and understand the market and identify opportunities resulting from new product offerings and/or market shifts.

  • Support colleagues to develop and present the business case and cost/benefit analysis to stakeholders.
  • Partner and collaborate with key stakeholder groups such as Finance, DPO, Legal, Internal Controls (audit) and Risk & Compliance to lead key negotiations.
  • Be responsible for the management account reporting process that is required to track actuals to budget, perform variance analysis and manage budget forecasting for the Enterprise Systems team.
  • Engage with strategic suppliers in order to foster, maintain and grow relationships.
  • Promote the rationalization and optimization of suppliers.
  • Ensure business continuity by completing contract and license renewals on time and ahead of expiry dates.
  • Matric / Grade 1
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Business, or equivalent work experience.
  • Procurement certification (CIPS, CPSM, CSCP, CSCM).
  • 5 years' experience leading strategic sourcing Information Technology initiatives utilizing best. practices.
  • 5 years' experience managing in large complex projects.
