A top IEB school in Johannesburg is looking for a Locum inspirational Physical Science teacher (May to September) to join a supportive, committed and innovative team in January 2024 The incumbent would need to be comfortable teaching both the IEB and the Cambridge A Level Curriculums.

We seek to appoint a Physical Sciences teacher who demonstrates:

a love of Physical Sciences and enthusiastically shares their passion with their students
a belief in the potential of his/her students, and who sees them as active participants in learning
Excellent content knowledge of Physical Sciences
a commitment to their own lifelong learning
an ability to produce high quality assessments and analysis of student performance
a willingness to take on extra responsibilities within the department as required by the Head of Science

is organised, flexible and self-motivated, with strong interpersonal skills
Uses technology to improve administrative efficiency and enhance the educational experience in the classroom
Can demonstrate an ongoing commitment to his or her own professional development
Will contribute to the endeavours and growth of the department

Minimum requirements
A Bachelor's Degree in Science (Physics and / or Chemistry)
5 years Physical Sciences teaching experience at matric level
SACE registration

Desirable attributes
A Master's Degree in Science
Experience of Cambridge and IEB curricula or a willingness to pursue gaining such experience
Other skills and experience that will contribute to the broader school life
Members of staff are expected to support the Christian ethos of the school
