ECD Project Manager

Fixed Term Contract until

R25 000 to R total cost to company per month

Job Purpose:


This role will provide Early Childhood Development support, guidance and feedback to the ECD practitioners who are part of the VPUU ECD programme at a citywide scale.

It includes developing practitioners' competence and monitoring and evaluation of the work with about 170 ECD Centre's to ensure the achievement of high-quality early learning services through the effective implementation of the programme...


Key Performance Areas:


  • Project manage an early learning programmatic approach towards improved ECD Services especially in informal settlements.
  • Oversee and further develop M&E tools towards measuring early interventions across neighbourhoods
  • Plan and conduct mentoring on site primarily in informal settlements in Cape Town (centre based as well as outreach/ out of centrebased programmes)
  • Ensure all VPUU ECD sites are implementing the learning programme accordingly
  • Support the supervisors in ensuring appropriate oversight of Fieldworkers that are assigned to perform M&E tasks.
  • Develop the centres and outreach programme towards best practice including making demonstrations
  • Facilitate training of practitioners, supervisors, fieldworkers and interns
  • Organise and Facilitate meetings with the ECD forums across areas.
  • Reporting and administration
  • Guide and oversee practitioner evaluations, the learner observations process, child development progress report process and inventory check process
  • Support the Supervisors with oversite such as inventory list preparation, data collection, analysis of data
  • Observe and guide interns in the designated centres and conduct quarterly mentoring sessions with interns
  • Draft practise briefs of the work conducted
  • Writing of monthly progress reports.

Requirements:


  • A Degree in Education, Early Childhood Development Sector, M&E or project management (Minimum NQF level 6)
  • At least 5 years of proven work experience in the field of Early Childhood Development Programmes, project management in social programmes, or M&E of educational projects
  • Grade R Knowledge would be an added benefit
  • Experience in facilitating training
  • Effective leadership, organizational and time management skills
  • Initiative, problemsolving and critical thinking skills
  • Possesses a strong excitement and passion for working with children and their Practitioners
  • Effective oral/written communication skills in at least 2 of the following languages: English, isiXhosa, Afrikaans
  • Criminal check Clearance on the Child Protection Register
  • Valid Code EB drivers' licence

Job Types:

R25, R30,000.00 per month
