Description
Duties/Pligte

  • Undergraduate and postgraduate teaching within the Department of Soil Science;
  • Developing and updating Soil Physics and Soil Water Management modules;
  • Sourcing and managing external research funds;
  • Supervision of postgraduate students;
  • Creating an active and productive research programme in the fields of Soil Physics or Soil Water related fields;
  • Developing national and international research and industry partnerships and networks;
  • Involvement with community interaction and farmer engagement projects;
  • Involvement with administrative duties at departmental, Faculty and University level.
Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes

  • PhD in Soil Science;
  • Demonstrated research experience in Soil Physics or related fields;
  • Proven experience in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses;
  • Proven experience in postgraduate supervision;
  • Relevant experience in industryrelated applied research and engagement;
  • Proven experience in obtaining research funding and project management of research projects (as primaryinvestigator or coinvestigator);
  • Strong publication record in reputable peerreviewed journals;
  • Relevant level of computer literacy;
  • Proficiency in statistics;
  • Language proficiency for a multilingual university.
