    We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Health and Safety Professional to join our team at Complement Recruitment.

    Job Description

    This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated individual to promote safety and health within our organisation. As a Senior Health and Safety Professional, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act and Regulations.

    You will ensure compliance with Environmental regulations and other legal requirements. Your primary focus will be on minimising risks, maintaining regulatory compliance, and improving workplace safety and environmental standards.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Risk Management: Facilitate risk assessments to identify potential hazards and mitigate risks.
    • Inspections and Reporting: Conduct regular inspections and compile comprehensive reports on Safety, Health, and Environment matters.
    • Incident Investigation: Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and ensure implementation of corrective/preventive actions.
    • Training and Development: Coordinate Health and Safety training for all employees.
    • Policy Updates: Update legal appointment letters and SHE policies to ensure compliance.

    Requirements:

    • Qualifications: Grade 12 qualification or equivalent.
    • Certifications: SAMTRAC or similar health and safety qualification.
    • Professional Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in SHE roles, preferably in chemical manufacturing/food manufacturing.
    • Skill Set: Sound knowledge of applicable legislation (OHS Act, COID Act, etc.). Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Management systems (ISO 45001:2018).

    Additional Tasks:

    • Injury on Duty Claims: Assist with Injury on Duty claims.
    • SHE Reports: Compile monthly SHE reports.
    • Job Observations: Perform job observations and provide constructive feedback.
    • Toolbox Talks: Prepare and conduct toolbox talks to educate staff.
