    YOUR ROLE

    We are looking for an experienced Ocean Customer Service Controller to coordinate the movement of ocean imports cargo through the international transport chain according to the client's requirements.

    The purpose of the CS controller will not only be responsible for the client liaison but to will also be responsible for planning and handling of the shipment through to finalization.

    WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

  • Provide proactive client communication, addressing any delays promptly.
  • Plan and arrange shipping to meet client specifications.
  • Provide Freight Estimates to clients
  • Ensure timely delivery of cargo and take preventive actions to avoid additional costs.
  • Maintain a paperless working environment, ensuring accurate data entry and documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams for seamless communication on shipments.
  • Track and trace shipments as required, providing updates to origin offices.
  • Negotiate rates when necessary to optimize freight movement.
  • Ensure timely receipt of Pre-Alerts and necessary documentation for customs clearance.
  • Process various tasks including RCG, examinations, inspections, and cargo dues.
  • Manage billing processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness within agreed timelines.
  • Provide regular status reports and updates as per client SOP.
  • Resolve queries professionally and in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures and contribute to team goals.
  • Stay updated on industry policies and procedures.
  • When required, perform other operational task

    WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
  • Grade 12/ Matric
  • Minimum if a level 4 certificate in freight forwarding or similar
  • At least 5 years' experience as a sea-freight imports/exports controller Cargowise experience is essential
  • Diverse systems experience especially Shipshape.
  • Forwarding & clearing industry experience is a must
  • CargoWise experience is a must
