- Develop projects from conception to completion, encompassing costing, design, and technical complexity.
- Provide technical support to other business units on automation-related matters.
- Foster strong relationships with customers through honest and constructive interactions.
- Compose tenders and quotes for potential work, including customer visits and engagement.
- Mentor junior staff in technical solutions and project development.
- Create electrical and instrumentation designs, including drawings, diagrams, and documentation.
- Implement quality control measures aligned with the company's ISO standards.
- Manage document control, both administrative and project-related.
- Conduct self-research on technical issues and emerging technologies.
- Offer technical assistance to younger engineers and technicians.
- Develop quotations and tenders, and provide support for contracts pursuit, business development, and sales.
- Oversee projects on technical and commercial aspects, ensuring self-management and dedication to deadlines.
- Interact with customers professionally, providing practical and technical solutions.
- Solve technical issues, fault-find, and conceive effective solutions.
- Commission systems onsite and travel when necessary.
- Work overtime when required and demonstrate professionalism.
- Undertake site supervision for projects of any size.
- Adhere to the company's policies and procedures, particularly in automation, drives, and instrumentation.
- Gather and implement knowledge on ABB products focused on Drives, Instrumentation, and Automation.
- Gain expertise in instrumentation and drives, encompassing fault finding, implementation, design, and commissioning.
- Develop electrical hardware and software design, development, implementation, and commissioning skills.
- Lead or co-lead projects, overseeing system development from start to finish.
- Demonstrate proficiency in good development cycle knowledge, practices, and implementation.
- Travel will be required for this role.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualifications (e.g., Process, Instrumentation, Digital Systems).
- Minimum 3-5 years of work experience in a projects environment, preferably.
- Valid driver's license and passport (willingness to travel regionally and abroad).
- Verifiable references and a clear criminal record.
- Software development to high standards.
- Teamwork and collaboration.
- Self-motivation and management.
- Effective communication and customer interaction.
- Tendering and quotation skills.
- Problem-solving and fault-finding abilities.
- Commitment and determination.
