Job Title: Service Mechanical Charge Hand

We are seeking a skilled Service Mechanical Charge Hand to join our team at CF Consulting. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring planned maintenance schedules are carried out efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the Boiler Attendants and Boiler Fireman in their duties in the running of the boiler house.
• Carry out plant checks to ensure artisans are complying with schedules as instructed.
• Attend to breakdowns and carry out necessary repairs in the shortest possible time.
• Manage the services and repairs to all mechanical equipment in the services department.
• Accurately record all work done on job cards or on planned maintenance schedules.
• Report all serious defects and/or defects which could not be repaired, to the Section Foreman or the Engineering Manager.
• Carry out safety inspections on equipment and plant as instructed.
• Undertake installation and modification of equipment and plant as instructed.
• Undertake any reasonable request of the Section Foreman or Engineering Manager.
• Standby cover.
• Overtime when necessary.

Requirements:

• Minimum N2 in a mechanical field.
• Recognized trade test in Fitting/Fitting & Turning.
• 5 years fitting experience in heavy machinery. Coal fired boilers, 500Cfm to 1000Cfm compressors, Centrifugal and piston type water pumps.
