    Description

    The Investment Backed Loan (IBL) product offering is a unique, tailored product that has been developed for our clients. The product is a loan that is secured by various investments such as a stock portfolio, cash balances, unit trusts etc.

    We are seeking to hire a credit analyst to join our team. The candidate will oversee the day-to-day credit processes and be responsible for the sustainable growth of the portfolio within the agreed risk appetite and frameworks.

    A significant amount of time with be spent on:

    Implementing the credit policy Review credit applications and performing credit checks Reporting on portfolio and industry trends Assisting with the approach to IFRS provisioning and portfolio analysis

    Role description

  • Contribute to the development of the product's credit strategy and credit operating model.
  • Implement operational efficiencies and changes to improve the customer application experience
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of operational processes required to sell this product.
  • Review and manage the credit policy, and ensure changes are signed off by the relevant stakeholders
  • Build relationships and manage the internal and external secured lending stakeholders
  • Supporting the product team design and deliver a suitable product to market
  • Provide an excellent customer experience and supporting the achievement of service level agreements
  • Understand and embrace the Old Mutual vision and demonstrate the values

  • Requirements

  • Non Negotiable
  • 3-year degree (quantitative, financial or business related)
  • Ability to work without supervision
  • At least 1 year of lending or other relevant experience in any financial, credit, investment or analytical role
  • Ability to communicate with stakeholders in other areas of the business
  • Excel – Intermediate proficiency (Lookups/Referencing, Pivot Tables)
  • Outlook – ability to manage routine queries while setting aside time to develop and build product improvements.
  • Investment Fundamentals – broad understanding of various assets classes, risk vs return and volatility measures.

  • Type of degree: Finance, Engineering, Accounting, Economics, Actuarial Science etc.
  • Exposure to credit products will be advantageos.
  • Working with securities-based lending products will be advantageous.
