Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Night Shift Fleet Controller to coordinate and control the quality of work activities, manage resources, establish client relations, and ensure business safety programs.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Monitor costs by analyzing fuel consumption, wages, tyre maintenance, and fleet maintenance, and implement cost-saving strategies.
• Provide input into the budget and forecast process.
• Schedule vehicles and drivers daily and timely.
• Brief and de-brief drivers according to company protocol.
• Track vehicles and manage driver fatigue.
• Compile daily operational reports.
• Ensure vehicle maintenance schedules adherence.
• Conduct weekly vehicle and driver inspections.
• Manage vehicle utilization based on client volumes and forecasts.
• Ensure sufficient resources for daily revenue targets.
• Track vehicles and report deviations.
• Maintain Service Level Agreements (SLAs) conditions.
• Analyze operational information and solve problems.
• Investigate accidents and incidents timely.
• Audit business systems, processes, and documentation.
• Complete required reports and attend meetings.
• Manage subordinate performance.
• Adhere to SHEQ and legislative requirements.
• Capture KPIs and identify improvement areas.
• Process administration/documentation according to operational requirements.
• Manage workplace discipline.
• Provide on-job training and guidance.
• Maintain and update safety files.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Grade 12.
• Transport and Logistics Management or relevant qualification.

Skills and Experience:

• 2-3 years' experience in a senior supervisor role within Logistics.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to motivate and discipline people.
• Effective standard setting and measurement.
• Good knowledge of Logistics operational procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work long hours and under pressure.
