    NOTE - Interviewing for this role will only take place April / May 2024

    Requirements:

    • Grade 12/Matric
    • 3 years experience as a receiving clerk in the retail / wholesale sector
    • Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
    • Willing to work over weekends and public holidays when required
    • Valid drivers licence

    Role

    • Responsible for receiving all stock delivered by suppliers.
    • They ensure that the correct quantities of stock are taken into the business and allocated to the correct departments for merchandising.
    • Physical checks of stock received must be carried out
    • Ensure barcodes are correct and easy to read on all products before taking stock onto the shop floor.
    • Collaborate with procurement staff to list expected deliveries
    • Receive shipments and sign paperwork upon receipt
    • Unload packages from incoming trucks Inspect contents to ensure they are undamaged
    • Verify packages according to order and invoices (quantity, quality, price etc.)
    • Contact supplier or shipper if a mistake is identified Assume responsibility for returning unsatisfactory shipments or receiving replacements
    • High level of detail and basic math skills.
    • Adequate physical strength to unload shippings as well as the clerical skills to update records and follow up with suppliers.
    • They also maintain documentation and collaborate with stakeholders for seamless operations.
    • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming goods against purchase orders.
    • Record and enter data related to received goods into the system.
    • Address discrepancies in received goods with quality control teams.
    • Reconcile stock counts and address any discrepancies.
