    Job Title: Teaching Experience Supervisor

    Job Purpose:

    The Teaching Experience Supervisor is responsible for supervising, evaluating, and developing student teachers during their teaching experience practical work in an appropriate school or ECD centre setting.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    1. Observe and evaluate the student teachers' performance during student teaching experiences in suitable classroom settings.
    2. Provide essential feedback to the student teachers regarding the content of observation and evaluation.
    3. Assist the student teachers to reflect on their performance, identifying both strengths and areas of needed improvement regarding teaching/learning objectives, goals, and strategies/approaches.
    4. Recommend and/or teach methods or alternatives for improving deficient areas in relation to the student teachers' performance.
    5. Provide oral and written feedback to student teachers after each formal observation.
    6. Help student teachers deal with problems they may be experiencing.
    7. Provide honest and candid evaluations of student teachers' progress.
    8. Mark the portfolio of evidence.

    Minimum Requirements:

    1. NQF level 7 BEd degree in education or related qualification (PGCE, PGDE, etc.).
    2. 5 years' experience working in Early Childhood Development/Foundation Phase.

    Key Competencies:

    1. Knowledge and ability to help the student teachers reflect on their overall instructional decisions.
    2. Ability to build and maintain professional, amicable, and confidential relationships with student teachers.
    3. Knowledge, awareness, and understanding of current, contemporary, emerging, and innovative instructional and pedagogical approaches.
    4. Experience in observing and evaluating teacher instructional and pedagogical performance in a school setting.
    5. Ability to work with teaching professionals and related stakeholders in a pleasant, professional, cooperative, and collaborative manner.
    6. Ability to travel to multiple school settings within a target area.
    7. A good communicator and role model.
    8. Report writing and feedback skills.

    Other Requirements:

    1. Valid driver's license and own car.
    2. No criminal record.
    3. Retired teachers are encouraged to apply.
    4. Candidates with a teaching qualification and currently involved in other sectors are encouraged to apply.
    5. Able to work independently.
    6. Available during the workday at dedicated times identified by IIE Rosebank College Online Centre.

    Working Hours (Part Time):

    Classes are scheduled from 08:00 am until 17:00 pm, Monday to Friday. Your working hours will depend on the schedule assigned to you.

    Salary:

    Market-related.
