Primary Purpose


The successful incumbent will be responsible for collating and reporting on Business Performance across Bidvest Financial Services and reporting on stakeholder engagement, i.e., stakeholders, Boards and Exco at monthly, quarterly, regulatory times.

You will be responsible for business development strategy; delivery of targets and closing of deals for an on behalf of Bidvest Financial Services with bank being the leverage.


You will seek opportunities for collaboration within BFS and Bidvest Group for new business ecosystem building, risk and compliance effectiveness.


You will also be responsible for providing proactive support through coordination of BFS joint strategy activities and solutions through collaboration monitoring implementation and reporting.

To provide proactive support to the office of the CEO and BFS executives on activities required of the office, example, Board action lists.


You will be required to create capacity in CEO's office through seeking efficiencies in the day-to-day operation, collaborating with Bank Exco, finance and personal assistant.


You will also plan and supervise initiatives from executives in BFS for effective implementation as well as reporting - Monthly regulatory reporting, Financials, Board packs.


You will be required to seek opportunities for collaboration in relations to new business, as an ecosystem, risk and compliance and cost efficiencies in the Division and Group.

Represent the CEO office for BFS division with understating of the different business strategies and goals.


Minimum Requirements

Qualifications:


  • B Com degree
  • FAIS RE5
Experience

  • 35 year's relevant banking and finance experience
  • 6 to 8 years related experience (ideal)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required include but not limited to

  • Financial modeling; ABC financial analysis, evaluating and identifying trends ,complex cash flows (Industry and sector)
  • Feature, benefits and value propositions of respective BFS offerings
  • Communication; written and verbal
  • Good presentation skills
  • Stakeholder engagement across all levels
  • Ability to close deals

Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to**
FINANCE

  • Drive client value proposition for Bidvest Financial Services
  • Enhance business performance and profitability by identifying growth opportunities
  • Proactively identify ecosystem opportunities in bank, BFS and group
  • Drive activation of new business and proactively offer additional client services
  • Ensure all sales leads are submitted and result in agreed % conversion, where applicable e.g., Insurance, Bank, FinGlobal
  • Establish, align and manage target and budget goals whilst ensuring effective control of costs for a range of functional areas to increase cost efficiency

PEOPLE

  • Keep abreast of learning opportunities, changing products and trends
  • Create own development plan and review plan with team leader or manager
  • Ensure timeous, clear contracting and assessment of performance expectations in line with identified objectives and enable a learning and growth culture

OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE

  • Monitor and report on CEO's office costs, managing budget alignment and plans thereof
  • Compile reports that track progress and guide business to make informed decisions
  • Ensure compliance and risk initiative and ESG initiatives that are agreed and BFS level are monitored and reported on
  • Improve business decisions by providing accurate and reliable business information together with analyzing trends and data
  • Provide regular reports on delivery of services against agreed service level agreements and in terms of overall boards, exco sessions etc.
  • Keep minutes of meetings within the division and group up to date and provide additional information and feedback as required
  • Translate business development strategies into actionable goals and execute relevant projects, initiatives aligned to objectives with specific performance measures and control systems to track progress
  • Attend a multitude of forums, project and management meetings to stay up to date with the Division's and Bank operational conditions and provide early warning to the CEO of probable issues and proposed solution
  • Evaluate, resolve and execute on all operational issues that may arise, in a timely and sustainable manner to prevent escalation to stakeholders and MDs.
  • Act as an initial point of entry for escalated queries and for queries from other external stakeholders and attend to queries or relaying the query to appropriate individuals when falling outside the scope
  • Take personal accountability for resolving issues lodged and identify opportunities for process improvement within the respective functions and sub functions
  • Keep action items (matters arising) from meetings within the division and group up to date and provide additional information and feedback as required
