Description

The Data Center Maintenance Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of data center infrastructure. This includes maintenance, operation, and management of HVAC, normal, emergency, UPS electrical supply, and mechanical systems.

Maintenance Planning and Management

Develops and executes effective maintenance strategies to ensure minimum downtime and maximum resilience.
Manages preventive and corrective maintenance schedules on SAP and HHD to ensure SLA delivery.

Facility Operations Management

Ensures the optimal performance of power, cooling, and security systems.
Monitors data center infrastructure and equipment using Building Management Systems (BMS) and Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools.

Team Leadership and Vendor Management

Leads and develops a team of technicians, facilitating training and skills development.
Collaborates with procurement on external vendors and service providers for maintenance and repairs.

Compliance and Safety Standards

Ensures compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (85) and Regulations.
Conducts regular safety audits to verify compliance with industry best practices and local codes.

Power and Environmental System Management

Oversees the maintenance and operation of critical power systems, including low-voltage, medium voltage, UPS, generators, and power distribution units (PDUs).
Manages HVAC systems to ensure appropriate temperature, humidity, and airflow within the data center.

Budgeting and Reporting

Prepares and manages the maintenance budget, optimizing resources for cost-effective operations.
Tracks maintenance costs, forecast expenditures, and implements cost-control measures.

People Management

Ensures adequate staff placement and manage/approve applicable leave for subordinate employees.
Manages technical staff performance and facilitates improvement through regularly monitoring performance and providing required coaching, support, and feedback.

Asset Management and End-of-Life Management

Ensures that equipment assets are managed in maintenance management system (SAP).
Ensures that equipment life cycle is managed, and client informed about equipment replacement requirements.

Salary: R500 000 - R680 000 per annum (CTC)
