    Description

    Job Title: Research and Development Manager

    Industry: Scientific, Research & Development

    Job Category: Laboratory Work

    Location: Randburg

    Contract: Permanent

    Remuneration: R1 200 000 - R1 800 000 per annum

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide strategic direction for the Water Nanotechnology Group.
    • Identify opportunities for technology development and commercialization.
    • Position the Group to be internationally competitive in its R&D outputs and outcomes.
    • Drive the commercialization of R&D output and outcomes locally and internationally.
    • Develop annual sectional plans aligned to long-term Divisional plans.
    • Obtain sufficient income from local and international funding agencies.
    • Ensure long-term sustainability of the Group.
    • Plan and schedule available resources to achieve business and R&D goals.

    Requirements:

    • MSc/MEng. (Chemistry or Chemical engineering)
    • PhD (Chemistry or Chemical engineering) or equivalent
    • Business qualification will be an added advantage

    Experience:

    • 10 years' technical competency at national and international levels
    • Extensive experience in business development, innovation management, technology management, and commercialisation
