    Job Title: Fire Engineer

    About the Role

    The Fire Engineer will be a key member of our Fire Engineering Team, serving as an expert technical consultant on fire safety, fire prevention, fire protection, and life safety engineering issues for internal and external clients.

    Responsibilities include project management for all fire safety and fire system design aspects of assigned projects, developing fire safety plans, writing reports, assisting junior engineers, meeting with clients and authorities, designing fire detection and suppression systems, reviewing drawings, preparing tender documents, and conducting site inspections.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Consulting engineering and project management for all fire safety and fire system design aspects of all assigned projects.
    • Develop fire safety plans for evacuation, way finding, firefighting equipment, fire rated construction, escape widths, etc.
    • Write reports detailing rational designs that deviate from standard solutions.
    • Assist junior engineers with technical designs and queries.
    • Meetings with clients, architects, and other professional team members.
    • Consult with authorities to discuss safety regulations and recommend deviations as necessary for projects.
    • Design fire detection, sprinkler systems, gas suppression, smoke control systems, etc.
    • Review drawings in 2D and 3D platforms.
    • Prepare tender documents and specifications for various fire protection systems and adjudication reports.
    • Site inspections and construction monitoring.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (BEng/BSc/BTech).
    • Professional Registration with ECSA (Pr. Eng. or Pr. Tech. Eng).
    • 5-10 years of experience in Fire Engineering.
    • Experience in Consulting Engineering Industry advantageous.
    • Valid Code B driver's license and own mode of transportation.
    • Ability to travel nationally and internationally.

    Estimated Salary: R800,000 - R1,200,000 per annum
