We are looking for a Verification Team Lead in South Africa.

The role's objective is to successfully lead the Verification Department of LendPlus South Africa through the growth, team management, driving excellent performance metrics and operational results, keeping the good body loans portfolio at maximum level per the best practices in the short-term lending industry.

Requirements:

• Excellent Risk Assessment, Underwriting skills & experience;
• Understanding the Risks for shortterm lending business in South Africa and knowing how to manage them effectively;
• Being a team player, build and then work effectively with South Africa Management Team, Underwriting team and with the HQ Risk Management Team;
• Implement the new resultoriented Culture, metricsbased approach (Team Goals + Individual Goals);
• Implement performance metrics for the Underwriting Team and ensure daily/ weekly/ monthly performance reviews;
• Implement Incentive Scheme for the Underwriting Team, following the best practices;
• Experience of implementation additional tools for maximum efficiency;
• Be an Inspirational Leader, Mentor & Coach for the Team with hands on approach;
• Provide continued Training & Development for the Team;
• Drive innovative, automated solutions, minimizing manual work wherever possible;
• Drive Underwriting Operations through the growth, continuously upgrading & optimizing the Team to always have enough resources with the right skills and capabilities;
• External focus

- continuous competitor analysis + continuously learn and implement best international & local practices

• Banking, ideally short term/payday loan business experience;
• Solid Risk Management / Underwriting skills for shortterm business in South Africa;
• Young while mature;
• Great leadership, hands on approach;
• Good network with Credit Bureaus, FinTech companies, Competitors;
• Great analytical skills;
• Understanding the market;
• Understanding the target audience for shortterm lending business very well;
• Technology, innovation mindset;
• Great Communication at the different levels of Organization.
