    Sales Engineer

    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a self-managed and disciplined individual to manage key accounts in the Gauteng region. This role is part of a broader commercial team supporting various sectors nationally and into Africa.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage key and smaller accounts for the Gauteng region.
    • Work with customer service to submit quotes and follow up on submissions.
    • Update sales quote trackers and tenders lists for feedback at monthly sales meetings.
    • Visit customers and clients daily, monitoring projects, engineers, and office operations.
    • Identify new market opportunities and products, and motivate resource allocations.
    • Develop relationships with new and current Key Account Customers.
    • Monitor competitor activity proactively.
    • Presentation of commercial proposals to all customers.
    • Ensure customer requirements and complaints are communicated effectively.
    • Communicate regularly with Manager regarding sales status.
    • Manage stock levels and minimize obsolescence costs.

    Technical Offerings

    • Attend engineering conferences to build professional networks.
    • Hold technical meetings with Engineering Consultants.
    • Plan presentations at engineering consultants and big contractors to establish relationships.
    • Conduct research and report writing for conference abstract submissions.
    • Schedule follow-up meetings with consultants to specify products.
    • Provide product training to major customers (re-sellers).

    Requirements

    • Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or Environmental Science.
    • 3-5 years of work experience in a similar environment.
    • Knowledge of geosynthetics and its applications is advantageous.
    • An established client network within the civil engineering industry.

    You should be a self-starter who can navigate commercial aspects, learn by asking questions, and understand company processes. You must collaborate well with other teams, maintain standard operating procedures, and provide valuable insights for commercial strategy.
