A role has become available for a Buyer in our Production and Supply Chain department for Procurement.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Implement and manage purchasing policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Evaluate suppliers considering the price, quality, availability, and other relevant criteria
  • Prepare, compile and issue RFQ
  • Evaluate supplier quotes, negotiate pricing, and payment terms and make recommendations to end users.
  • Review and analyse purchase requisitions to ensure appropriate sourcing of nonstock items.
  • Determine maintaininsystem min/max levels for SKU.
  • Monitor SKU inventory levels and initiate orders as needed to maintain optimal inventory levels
  • Place orders for goods and services, track delivery dates, and update system information.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and make recommendations for improvement
  • Manage and maintain purchasing databases and records
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and market condition
  • Interviewing and visiting supplier's facilities to learn about products, services, and pricing
  • Preparing and processing purchase orders
  • Ensure suppliers are issued with approved Company Quality Specifications.
  • Ensure all nonstock and stock items comply with the company quality specifications and approve for final acceptance
  • Reporting on the status of all open purchase orders
  • Interacting with suppliers to schedule delivery times and resolve shipping errors.
  • Building and maintaining positive, longterm relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Act responsibly, professionally, and ethically at all times fostering goodwill and a positive image for the Department and Company.

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Supply Chain Purchasing Diploma / BA / BCom Degree
  • 3+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management


  • Experience in ERP

  • SAGEX3 systems preferable
  • Negotiation skills
  • Detailoriented and analytical
  • Decisionmaking skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload in a fastpaced environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
