    About the Role

    We are seeking a dedicated Mathematics Tutor Coordinator to join our team. In this critical position, you will report directly to the Tutoring Program Manager and play a vital role in enhancing the academic success of our students.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Coordinate tutor recruitment and training efforts, ensuring that new tutors are prepared to engage effectively in the classroom.
    • Develop and provide test materials for mathematics tutors to ensure they have necessary resources for their lessons.
    • Oversee the tutor management system to monitor deliverables from mathematics tutors, such as lesson plans, and ensure timely submission.
    • Evaluate tutor performance by marking and grading assessments to provide feedback and identify areas for improvement.
    • Maintain open communication with mathematics tutors and collaborate with other coordinators to develop timetables that prevent clashes and align with the annual teaching plan.
    • Work closely with the Tutoring Program Manager to provide updates on tutor performance and program effectiveness.
    • Take responsibility for tutoring the Grade 12 mathematics class, delivering high-quality instruction and support.
    • Assign tutors to classes while considering timetable clashes and ensure that tutors are always available and prepared for their scheduled sessions.
    • Analyze tutoring results and provide insights to improve the overall quality of the mathematics tutoring program.

    Requirements

    • A degree in Mathematics or a related field.
    • Be a South African unemployed youth aged between 18 and 34.
    • Not have participated in the YES Program before.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Strong time management skills.
    • Leadership skills.
    • Technical proficiency.
    • Analytical skills.
    • Ability to adapt to changing situations.
    • A passion for education.

    The estimated salary for this position is R120,000 - R180,000 per annum, depending on experience.
