TCOE salary commencing from R1, 905, 838 per annum and Ref no: CS 156/23

We are looking for a highly experienced HR professional and influential team player who will lead and direct the human resources function of the City of Cape Town.

Providing strategic leadership in the implementation of the City's human resources management strategy and aligning such with the City's vision and strategy.

The director of human resources will be responsible for contextualising the human resource priorities for the City; Engaging with institutional priorities and taking forward institutional objectives in a proactive and solution-oriented manner.


Reporting to the executive director:
corporate services, you will be responsible for providing an efficient and effective value-adding service across all aspects of the human resources function, including:
Strategic staffing
Employee relations
Education, training and development
Organisational management
Human resources business systems
Occupational health and safety
Job evaluation and grading
Remuneration and benefits
Individual performance management
Payroll and personnel administration
Employee wellness
Departmental support services.


Requirements:

A relevant professional degree coupled with extensive generalist human resources experience and knowledge at a senior managerial level and within a large and diverse environment
Exposure to and knowledge of the local government environment may be advantageous
A highly engaging and collaborative individual who can quickly establish credibility and respect and build strong relations with all stakeholders, across all levels, driving the HR strategy forward
Proven ability in providing expert and professional advice and guidance on all HR related issues
Develop and implement human resources policies, processes, systems and procedures, in line with best practice and compliance with relevant policies and legislation
Agile and innovative in approach whilst ensuring attention to detail and compliance in delivery of the role.
