    Industrial Designer Role

    We are seeking an Industrial Designer to work with our manufacturing client in Durban.

    The ideal candidate will have experience in Industrial Design and proficiency with design software.

    Main Responsibilities

    1. Determine clients' requirements for new product designs.
    2. Analyze global and local market trends to identify opportunities and challenges.
    3. Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create virtual models of products.
    4. Collaborate with the design team to develop physical prototypes.
    5. Support the roll-out of new products and designs for production.
    6. Design display areas and prepare products for client inspection.
    7. Evaluate product safety, appearance, and functionality to determine design feasibility.
    8. Optimize design costs, aesthetics, robustness, and energy efficiency for all new developments.
    9. Present designs and demonstrate prototypes to clients for approval.

    Required Experience and Qualifications

    1. Matric certification
    2. Tertiary qualification in Industrial Design or a related field
    3. Experience working as an Industrial Designer in a manufacturing environment
    4. Proficiency in software design, 3D visualization, prototyping, sketching, modeling, and simulation
    5. Experience using Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, and Solidworks
    6. Strong project management skills
