    Description

    Job Summary

    The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating container collections and deliveries between Durban Harbour, storage facilities, and nationwide destinations. They must manage and optimize fleet scheduling, including local shunting and long-distance operations, while overseeing Transnet harbour yard bookings through the Navis system.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Coordinate container collections and deliveries between Durban Harbour, storage facilities, and nationwide destinations
    • Manage and optimize fleet scheduling, including local shunting and long-distance operations
    • Oversee Transnet harbour yard bookings through the Navis system
    • Monitor fleet performance, safety compliance, and cost efficiency
    • Coordinate with technical management for vehicle maintenance scheduling
    • Track and manage fuel consumption, route adherence, and driver activities
    • Provide real-time updates to customers and generate operational reports
    • Supervise container turn-in procedures and booking slot management
    • Liaise with port terminals and manage depot relationships
    • Report to group logistics management in Bloemfontein

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 with a valid driver's license
    • Minimum 5 years' experience in container logistics, fleet control, or port operations
    • Certificate/Diploma in Transport Management or Logistics (advantageous)
    • Proven expertise with Navis booking system and port operations
    • Proficient in GPS tracking systems and fleet management software
    • Strong knowledge of national routes (JHB, CPT, DBN, BLM, PE)
    • Advanced computer literacy (MS Office Suite)
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Experience in generating management reports and analysis
