They are seeking a skilled individual for an exciting opportunity in their finance team.
The role is available from
1st August 2023 to 31st December 2024 (contract).**South African citizens/residents are preferred, although applicants with valid work permits will also be considered.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong accounting knowledge, preferably with a
BCom Accounting or CA(SA) qualification. - Comprehensive understanding of payroll and payroll accounting process flows.
- Processfocused and detailoriented.
Proficiency in SAP GL is a must.
ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge of fringe benefit tax regulations.
- Technical skills in relevant technologies.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- BCom Accounting or CA(SA) qualification.
- Full understanding of payroll and payroll accounting process flows.
- Knowledge of fringe benefit tax regulations.
- Processfocused and controloriented.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Completing payroll accounting tasks for various departments.
- Forecasting monthly payroll cash flow.
- Managing salary payment release function and temporary bank limits.
- Reconciling reports and accounts prior to payment.
- Facilitating payments to payroll third parties.
- Handling payroll postings and oncharge journals.
- Assisting with sundry expense claim process.
- Managing travel deductions for payroll input.
- Reconciling employee loan and travel accounts.
- Reconciling employee benefit trust accounts.
- Investigating and clearing payroll bank clearing account.
- Reviewing outstanding amounts from associates.
- Calculating provision for bad debts.
- Reconciling travel vendor invoices.
- Participating in payroll and travelrelated projects.
- Supporting ISO 9001 preparation and intercontrol process mapping.
- Ensuring proper documentation and support for journal postings.
- Completing payroll accounting monthend activities.
- Timely completion of payment schedules to third parties.
- Leading the centralisation of accruals project for Finance.
- Analysing accounting processes and mitigating internal audit findings.
- Meeting preparation, planning, and chairing.
- Process mapping and simplification.
- Delivering excellent presentations to senior management.
- Ensuring highquality output and project management.
- Utilising SAP Concur and SAP GL knowledge effectively.
