HR PRACTITIONER - Melpack

We currently have an exciting career opportunities for a HR Practitioner one at
our Melpack packing operation in
Grabouw. We are looking for a self-motivated, service orientated and well organised individual who will be able to act as a professional business partner to our Packing operation.


The main purpose of the role is to provide an efficient human resource management service to the Packhouse by managing all relevant HR policies, procedures and practices within the Framework of the Fruitways Group HR strategy and the company's operational requirements.

This role will report to the HR Manager for the FPS Business Unit.


This is a fantastic opportunity for a HR Practitioner who has built solid generalist experience and who is now seeking a position offering accountability, challenge, and a wide range of tasks and depth of work.


Responsibilities:


  • Consult and work in partnership with Managers and employees to influence their thinking and drive the achievement of people management strategies at one of our Packhouses.
  • Manage the Packhouse's industrial relations, disciplinary, incapacity and grievance policies and procedures (within a unionized environment)
  • Represent the operational unit at the CCMA, up to arbitration, when required
  • Recruitment, selection and onboarding of Packhouse employees
  • Implement relevant training and development initiatives for the Packhouse in collaboration with Group Services
  • Be accountable for the effective implementation of all HR policies and procedures at the operational unit
  • Assist the Business unit's HR manager with relevant compliance and legislative requirements and audit processes, including Siza, Skills Development and Employment Equity.
  • HR data analysis and reporting for the site and at relevant forums.

Requirements:


  • Human Resources Degree or related qualification
  • Minimum of 35 years' experience in Human Resources and Administration within a unionized operational environment (experience within the Fruit packaging & processing environment would be advantageous)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of BCEA, LRA, EE, OHSA, WSP, ART reporting & BBBEE
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problemsolve using a collaborative approach with a variety of work functions and cultures
  • Able to maintain confidentiality for sensitive Human Resources issues or projects and use judgement and decisionmaking to execute duties and responsibilities
  • Analytical problemsolving approach
  • Ability to produce detailed orientated work of high quality and accuracy
  • Computer literate
  • Own vehicle and valid driver's license, travel between operational units will be required.
