    Job Description

    Location: We have a flexible Hybrid/Remote working policy, enabling us to hire talent across the EMEA region, with a preference for candidates in South Africa, Bulgaria, Serbia, and Poland.

    We're seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our team. Your goal will be to build out seamless cross-border payments involving both crypto and fiat currencies.

    Traditional methods often result in high transaction fees, lengthy delays, and rigidity. Our innovative solution aims to break down these barriers, allowing a fluid interchange between crypto and fiat currencies.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Collaborate closely with product and trading teams to design, develop, and deliver high-performance trading services.
    2. Build and maintain integrations with various crypto exchanges, such as Kraken.
    3. Translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
    4. Advocate for reliable, scalable, and maintainable solutions in a fast-paced environment.
    5. Contribute to and enhance engineering culture, standards, and best practices, driving excellence across the team.

    Requirements:

    1. Proven experience as a senior backend developer in a trading-focused or similar role.
    2. Expertise in Java and Spring Boot, delivering highly performant, scalable, high-throughput solutions.
    3. Experience in building and maintaining APIs and services in the trading domain.
    4. Excellent problem-solving skills and collaboration skills.
    5. Strong understanding of financial markets, trading platforms, and crypto exchanges.
    6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    7. Familiarity with distributed ledger technology or blockchain is a plus.
    8. Applies a data-driven approach to decision-making, leveraging analytics to optimise trading operations.
    9. Comfortable working with trading-related technologies, protocols, and frameworks.
    10. Brings a proactive, results-oriented mindset, with a passion for building best-in-class applications.
