VACANT POSITION - FACILITIES MANAGER

Recreation Africa Leisure Industries (PTY)Ltd. requires the services of a Facilities Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies and plans aligned with the vision of the Property.
  • Must work in full compliance with the approved safety regulations.
  • Compile and manage the annual budget related to all preventative maintenance of infrastructure and equipment efficiently and effectively.
  • Manage the preventative maintenance function effectively by ensuring reduction in real cost and improvement of facilities.
  • Provide maintenance of infrastructure and equipment related input.
  • Develop and update infrastructure and equipment maintenance plans according to the Property strategic plan.
  • Oversee and constantly follow up maintenance procedures on all work completed.

Maintenance and Repairs:


  • Conduct regular inspections of the property to identify areas in need of maintenance and repair.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules for buildings, landscaping, and common areas.
  • Arrange for, supervise maintenance, and repair work, including but not limited to building repairs, painting, plumbing repairs, electrical fencing, security booms, staff ablution facilities, and lighting maintenance.
  • Maintain an inventory of all equipment and tools used on the property.
  • Monitor that all maintenance and repairs are done in compliance with relevant regulations and building codes.
  • Maintain records of all maintenance and repair work, manage maintenance tasks.
  • Repairing equipment and machinery.
  • Sign off on work completed by service providers before payment and ensure that the relevant documentation for warranties is provided to Management.

Gardening:


  • Plan, design, and maintain the landscaping and grounds of the property.
  • Ensure that the plants are healthy and well maintained.
  • Plan and implement an irrigation schedule for plants and grass.
  • Ensure that all garden equipment and tools are properly maintained and stored.
  • Regularly maintain and clear any vegetation or obstructions around the electrical fence to ensure optimal functioning.

Cleaning:


  • Develop and implement a cleaning schedule for common areas, including staircases, balconies, pathways, parking, lawns, and all other common areas.
  • Ensure that the bin area is clean, tidy, and hygienic, and oversee waste management.
  • Supervise cleaning staff, provide training, and ensure they are properly equipped.
  • Maintain cleaning products and equipment inventory.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness.

Pest Control:


  • Conduct regular inspections of the property to identify any signs of pest activity or infestation.
  • Implement control measures to prevent pests from entering the property and to eliminate existing infestations.
  • Maintain records of pest activity and control measures.

Requirements:

years relevant Maintenance / Facility Management experience.

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong technical skills with the ability to perform various repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Outlook ( managing schedules, budgets and communication).
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fastpaced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A valid Drivers license.
