Description
National Catering Company seeks to hire a General Manager to oversee the National Catering Contract with an corporate client. Reporting directly to the CEO.


Scope:


Financial Management:


  • Projects within the allocated region achieve budgeted and/or expected profits
  • Project, regional and relevant Head Office expenses are in line with budgets and/or meet stipulated turnover/expense ratios
  • Efficient and ongoing control is exercised over menu costing, purchases, labour costs and appropriate and speedy action is taken to rectify identified problems
  • Efficient and ongoing control is exercised over debt collection and appropriate and speedy action is taken to rectify identified problems
  • Efficient and ongoing control is exercised over cash expenses and banking procedures
  • In liaison with the relevant Financial Manager annual budgets prepared and are scrutinised and adjusted where indicated and submitted to the Chief Financial Officer on or before the stipulated deadline
  • Quarterly projections and strategies submitted by Project Managers are evaluated and submitted on or before the required deadline

Purchasing & Stock Control

  • Efficient stock control is exercised in the projects falling within the allocated region and stock holdings are in accordance with Company standards
  • Meals provided meet agreed upon menu specification in terms of content, quality and quantity
  • Identified risks are addressed timeously
  • Cash purchases are analysed, overspending is identified and rectified
  • Projects falling within the allocated region purchase through Company appointed preferred suppliers
  • Company Order approval processes are followed

Hygiene, Safety and Quality Standards

  • Hygiene, food safety and quality standards are met in the allocated Region and at Projects
  • Problems identified through the FCS audit are acted upon timeously
  • Quarterly full audit of all units meet requirements
  • Problems identified through the Quarterly audit are acted upon timeously

Client Liaison and Retention

Human Resources Management

Project Optimisation, Marketing and Sales

  • New appointments meet the requirements of the job specification and preference is given in terms of employment equity goals
  • Performance is monitored and reviewed at stipulated times
  • Training or development needs of direct reports are identified, planned for and implemented
  • Effective communication is practiced
  • Identified subordinates are mentored effectively for succession
  • Subordinates report harmonious relationships

R70,000.00 per month
