    Acumen Recruitment's Financial Manager Position

    A reputable organization based in the North of Johannesburg seeks a highly skilled Financial Manager to oversee their financial operations.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Review and posting of journals prepared by the financial accountant, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
    • Approval of fixed assets capitalized, with thorough review of all inputs loaded into the MDA fixed asset module to guarantee adherence to policies.
    • Review of items capitalized as Property improvements to verify alignment with capitalization policy, ensuring transparency and accountability.
    • Ensure sufficient funds are available in the bank to make VAT payments, maintaining a proactive approach to financial management.
    • Review income statement commentary prepared by financial accountants, providing constructive feedback for improvement.
    • Conduct a thorough review of Balance sheets and prepare key balance sheet account reconciliations in collaboration with Creditors Supervisor, where relevant, to guarantee consistency and accuracy.
    • Verify intercompany transactions to ensure completeness of elimination journals, eliminating any discrepancies or errors.
    • Prepare consolidated income statement and balance sheet, requiring meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
    • Develop external covenant reporting for review by Head Of Finance, ensuring timely submission and compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Prepare income statement forecast to feed into monthly cashflow forecast prepared by Head Of Finance, utilizing historical data and market trends.
    • Sweep funds for PAYE payment (fifth of every month) and distribute allocation to Creditors team, streamlining financial processes and enhancing efficiency.
    • Address queries raised by stakeholders on the financial accounts, providing clear and concise explanations to maintain stakeholder trust and confidence.
    • Review of creditors reconciliations in line with policy, ensuring prompt resolution of discrepancies and maintaining a clean balance sheet.

    Desired Experience and Qualification

    • CA(SA) qualification, with preference given to Big 4 articles.
    • Proven experience with MDA systems, coupled with a solid understanding of financial principles and practices.
    • At least 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, demonstrating a track record of success and growth.
